Scarlet Wave finish off season strong despite loss to Ohio University
Chillicothe
Women's basketball team finishes second season with an overall 3-23
record
The Hilltoppers of Ohio University of Chillicothe visited The Ohio State
University at Newark campus for an ORCC tournament game vs the Scarlet
Wave and came away with a 66-55 narrow victory in a hard fought contest.
Both teams came out strong in the first half with aggressive
defense which stymied both of their offenses. As both squads were
having trouble finding the basket, they managed to keep the score tight at
intermission with the Hilltoppers leading 25-24.
The Hilltoppers were led by ORCC standout Amanda Angles with
41 points. Bethany White led the Scarlet Wave with 33 points of her
own, states Coach Mark Sisler.
"Besides the loss tonight, the ladies gained a lot of
collegiate game experience this season. We have
made great strides in only our second year with a women's basketball program, and
we're now believing that better things are yet to come. We have a lot
of incoming freshman playing this season. Hopefully they will be able
to use this experience and begin preparation for next season now," explained Coach Mark Sisler. |
