There are many student clubs on campus to entertain a variety of student interests.  Listed below are 22 different student organizations which are active on the Marion campus.  You have the opportunity to become involved in one or several of these or you can start one of your own.  Become a part of university life at Ohio State Marion!

CAMPUS CRUSADE is an interdenominational group of students that promote spiritual and religious activities on campus.  Campus Crusade hosts weekly Bible Studies, WACKE concert, and various other faith based programs.  For more information on Campus Crusade contact Caitlin Richey richey.108@osu.edu.

CAMPUS DEMOCRATS Are you interested in promoting the ideals of the Democratic Party to students, staff, faculty and the community?  If so, the Campus Democrats is a great organization to help you achieve your goals.  You will be actively involved on various levels of local, state, and national politics.  You will take a dynamic role in connecting with other organizations that share principals, ideals, and also enjoy dialogue with groups that enjoy political discussions.  If you’d like to become a Campus Democrat contact

CORNFIELD REVIEW  do you like to write short stories, personal essays, take photographs, write poems, or create art?  This journal for the creative arts is published once a year by the Ohio State University campuses of Marion, Mansfield, and Newark.  This group also coordinates a high school literary contest open to students from a seven county area.  For more information, contact Ben McCorkle at mccorkle.12@osu.edu.

EDUCATION SOCIETY calling all students pursuing a career in Education…join the Education Society!  This social and service organization is open to any student pursuing a career in education.  Students do not need to be in the College of Education to be a member.  The group coordinates community service events such as the Book Fair and Puppet Show as well as other student supported social events.  To join the Education Society contact Shellie Shirk at shirk.20@osu.edu.

GRIFFIN SOCIETY  this honors and social organization encourages academic excellence and success through participation in honors classes and activities taking place in a friendly atmosphere.  If you’re GPA is maintained at 3.0 or you have successfully completed an honors course we invite you to join the Griffin Society.  Contact Amanda Mclarty at Mclarty.4@osu.edu for meeting times.

INCHANT this is a select vocal a cappella ensemble looking for new talented members.  If you have superior vocal talent, strong sight reading abilities and would like to be part of a professional singing group check out InChant.  Be part of the performances of contemporary a cappella and songs of collegiate significance on campus, in the community, and throughout the state.  The ensemble/student organization is arranged to feature soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass voices, as well as vocal percussionists.  Auditions are held annually, or can be prearranged.  Contact advisor Wayne Rowe at rowe.31@osu.edu or 740-725-6316.  Check out our premiere cd, "In Rhythm & Time," tracks, upcoming concert info, group member bios, and more at: www.inchant.org.

LE CIRCLE FRANCAIS was developed to explore the diversity of French culture, and to promote understanding of how French culture affects our everyday lives.  If you are interested in expanding your knowledge, language skills, and participating in social/cultural activities that explore the French traditions and customs please plan to join us.  For more information contact Advisor Zuheir Alidib at alidib.1@osu.edu.

MARION ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP is an organization that comes together to discuss local and national environmental conservation issues.  The group conducts education programs and provides opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to voice their opinions on important environmental issues.  Please join us by contacting Advisor Dr. Richard Bradley at Bradley.10@osu.edu

OUTDOOR PURSUITS is an activities organization open to all students interested in exploring outdoor adventures.  The group coordinates trips and workshops on various aspects of outdoor activities.  Some activities include backpacking, rock climbing, skiing, rafting and much more.  Contact Advisor Dave Beckel at beckel.1@osu.edu.

PAGAN STUDENT SOCIETY exists to expand the education and awareness of diversity in religion. Students meet to discuss various Pagan religions, other world religions, issues that affect the local, national, and global communities, and support the idea of appositive association with nature in an open forum.  For more information contact Advisor Brenda at chaney.2@osu.edu.

PSYCHOLOGY CLUB is an academic student organization open to anyone interested in social science and everyday behavior.  The Psychology Club offers monthly speakers and free lunch once a month.  The club also heads up the annual Giving Tree Project to help victims of domestic violence.  The Ohio State Marion Psychology Club…”It’s All In Your Head”.  Please Contact Advisor Dr. Terry Pettijohn at pettijohn.1@osu.edu.

RUGBY Anyone interested in this club for rugby enthusiasts should contact Dave Beckel at beckel.1@osu.edu.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT GOVERNMENT Be a liaison between the students, faculty, and administration.  USG works to gather information and possible solutions to campus-related issues.  This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in leadership, student/organization government, communications, and community development.  For more information contact Advisor Michael Short at short.107@osu.edu.

Multi Cultural Club is a student organization dedicated to promoting cultural diversity within the campus and community.  This organization is open to all students interested in making an impact.  For more information contact Advisor Shawn Jackson at jackson.368@osu.edu or Tia Thompson at thompson.1347@osu.edu

SWAHILLI CLUB welcomes all students interested in the African culture and the language of Swahili.  This organization promotes education through the experience of studying this interesting language.  Previous field trips have included the Queen of Sheba Restaurant, The Motherland Grill, and the Zanesville African Safari.  Students may also have the opportunity to travel to Africa.  For more information contact Advisor Zach Nyongesa at nyongesa.1@osu.edu.
