Post Secondary Enrollment–Ohio State Academy at Marion

This is an opportunity for qualified students to enroll in college while still in high school.  The Ohio State University Academy is a highly selective program. Students may apply for admission during the spring for autumn enrollment. Ohio State Marion will accept applications for any quarter.  However, individual high schools may have different timelines.

There are two options available at Ohio State Marion. With either option, the student has a formal college record.

Option A - For college credit only. Student and family bear the cost of coursework and books. Does not affect high school grade point average.

Option B - For both high school and college credit. High school and Ohio State Marion will share the cost of students' courses and books. Grades are reported to high school, listed on the high school transcript, and figured into the high school grade point average. This option is not available for summer quarter enrollment.

Who should apply?

• Performance in high school as shown by class rank or grade point average:
  Rank in the top 15 percent of high school class OR
  Cumulative grade point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• Performance on standardized tests:
  ACT composite score of 26 or higher OR
  Combined SAT Critical Reading and Math score of 1180 or higher OR
  Equivalent scores on the PSAT or PLAN tests
• Recommendation of high school counselor or principal
• 300 word essay

Application Procedures

To apply, a student should submit the following materials by the appropriate deadline.
• The Ohio State University Academy Application
• The High School Information Form
• Official high school transcripts
• Official transcripts from any post-secondary institution
• $40 application fee
• Standardized test score reports are required (PSAT, PLAN, ACT, SAT)
• The high school counselor or principal must complete the High School Information Form, including a recommendation. This recommendation should indicate precisely the student's intent and purpose for participating in the program.
