Scarlet Wave begin softball program in a positive
way
Softball team splits doubleheader
The Scarlet Wave softball team begins the campus softball
program by splitting a doubleheader with Southern State Community College.
Nesa Rogers led the Lady Wave behind her 6-hit pitching in game one with
support from her teammates. The team contributed with 18 singles in an
8-0 run rule shortened victory. Every member of the Scarlet Wave team had
at least one hit during game one. Nesa Rogers had 3 singles, Katy Short,
Chelsea Brake, Cereda Vest, Megan Gibson, Jazmine Cornell, and Jodie Denman
added two a piece.
The offensive display continued into the second game
of the doubleheader with the Scarlet Wave producing another 16 singles in a
losing 3-7 effort. Nesa Rogers, Megan Gibson, and Megan Bloomfield each had
three hits while Katy Short and Chelsea Brake added two. Southern State CC
had 10 hits in the second game including 3 doubles and 4 singles, all in the
fourth inning in breaking a 2-2 tie.
