Strategic
Planning Seminar for Marion Area Businesses and Organizations Offered
The Non-Profit Connection, a collaboration of
north central Ohio community minded non-profit organizations, will hold a
strategic planning seminar, "The Reality of Survival" featuring Scott A. Frye
of Strategic Concepts, LLC, Thursday, September 12, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The
Ohio State University at Marion's Morrill Hall.
"Strategic Planning, The Reality of Survival"
will outline the big picture of performance management, basic definitions
of strategic planning, the importance of planning, national and local trends,
stories of success and failure, where to begin with strategic planning, the
risks involved in lack of planning, as well as practical structured models
of strategic plans. Frye's presentation style provides humor and simplification
to the complex issues involving strategic planning.
Organizers of the seminar recommend it for board
members and senior staff of both public and non-profit organizations. The
evening begins with registration and a light dinner from 4 to 5 p.m. Next
Frye will present the core of the seminar, "The Reality of Survival, What
it is, what it isn't, and why your organization must do it, followed by a
how to model of strategic planning implementation.
According to Frye, "The seminar offers the structure
and discipline necessary to get clear about the question of why plan. It provides
an opportunity to influence the future and to tell your story of success and
challenges."
